Charlotte, NC, September 26, 2011. ZAPATA is pleased to announce the promotion of Jason E. Shiflet, PG to Director of Operations, Munitions Response Services and Environmental Compliance and Remediation Services (MRS/ECRS) Division. The MRS/ECRS Division is a business unit of ZAPATA which supports Federal and commercial clients worldwide with conducting site investigation, characterizations and removal and remedial actions at sites contaminated with Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) and Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW).

Mr. Shiflet has been with ZAPATA for 12 years as Project Manager and Geologist. His experience includes managing HTRW/MEC engineering investigations, characterizations and remediations for numerous Federal and commercial clients across the U.S. As Director of Operations, Mr. Shiflet is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Project Managers, scientists, engineers, and technicians from multiple ZAPATA office locations providing engineering and field services to clients worldwide.

Charlotte, NC, September 20, 2011. ZAPATA is pleased to announce Brain Andrea, PMP, CQM has been named Director of International Operations for the Munitions Response Program and Engineering and Construction Services and establishes the Knoxville, TN office.

Mr. Andrea joins ZAPATA with 27 years of experience in the Military Munitions, Environmental, and International Demining fields. He has served in a verity of technical and leadership roles supporting clients worldwide.

Mr. Andrea is a recognized expert in Advanced NATO IEDD and Quality Control for Demining and UXO clearance actions. He has earned the American Society for Quality Certification in Quality Control Management, Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed training from the US Naval EOD School and the Canadian Forces Basic EOD School.

In his new position, Mr. Andrea will serve as Director of International Operations. He will lead ZAPATA’s technical and contracting staff in supporting our Munitions Response, Demining and Environmental Services worldwide
