Naval Weapons Station, SC

ZAPATA is providing the Naval Weapons Station Charleston (WPNSTA CHASN) on-site GIS and AutoCAD Map services for the development and implementation of base-wide GIS and associated services including support and guidance to developers and users of electronic mapping, application, and mission support data sets. ZAPATA provides data development, implementation, and program consulting services to WPNSTA CHASN Commanding Officer for the maintenance of base data assets, internet mapping assistance and training, publicity, help desk, and technical support for other military, civil service, and contractor personnel.

ZAPATA is responsible for conversion of engineering data into a digital format; creating and managing basewide geospatial data in SDS compliant CAD and GIS formats; educating Base Civil Engineering personnel on the use and benefits of SDS data; making presentations to management on the status of the base-wide GIS system and proposed pending improvements to the system; preparing facility maps to support short notice programming requirements for various departments and tenants at WPNSTA CHASN; developing responses to Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) geospatial data calls in support of Command driven requirements; development of overall enterprise GIS system; and trouble shooting software issues related to ArcGIS and AutoCAD Map.
