ZAPATA is pleased to announce Mr. Edward Ruotanen joined the firm as an Electrical Designer.

With his strong design background and over 30 years of experience, Mr. Ruotanen is a welcome addition to ZAPATA’s electrical team that is responsible for providing top-notch designs for Department of Defense, Federal government, and private sector clients.

Mr. Ruotanen’s experience covers projects involving electrical power, grounding, lighting, and instrumentation and process controls within a broad range of industries: biopharmaceutical, textile, pulp/paper, manufacturing, chemical, power (nuclear, hydro, and substation), environmental, shipyard facilities, and data centers. Additionally, he has an Associate of Applied Science degree in electromechanical engineering technology from Michigan Technological University.

At ZAPATA, Mr. Ruotanen will be responsible for communication and electrical designs for new construction and renovation projects. These detailed designs include the preparation of construction drawings, selection of equipment and materials, review of submittals, and other long-term planning needs to help ensure constructability and a reliable electrical design that supports project and client needs.
