ZAPATA is pleased to announce Mr. Matthew Wilson joined the firm as a Civil Engineer. Mr. Wilson is a professional engineer (PE) with over 15 years of experience providing civil site design and environmental compliance for water resources and land development projects. His expertise includes watershed management, civil site design, regulatory permitting, geotechnical subsurface investigations, and site inspections.
Most recently, Mr. Wilson was responsible for environmental compliance of industrial and public water supply facilities; he inspected plant processes, investigated potential contamination, and provided enforcement documentation. He also worked in land development providing civil infrastructure expertise required for site plans, grading, erosion and sediment control, stormwater quality, flood studies, water distribution and wastewater collection.
At ZAPATA, Mr. Wilson will provide civil designs for construction and commissioning requirements for projects that support military, commercial, industrial and utility clients; this involves real property facilities with highly specialized or unique requirements.
Mr. Wilson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, and he received his PE license in 2007. In his spare time, Mr. Wilson can be found rock-climbing or caving somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains. He provides group instruction and is certified in Wilderness First Aid; and he aspires to attain Wilderness First Responder Certification.
