Borehole Camera
The GeoVision Model JR M6 camera provides black and white video records of subsurface void conditions (such as the relative size and nature of pillars, roof, floor and collapsed materials) at distances up to 20 ft. The borehole camera has also proven to be an effective tool for monitoring subsidence mitigation efforts, such as grouting. Video from the camera is displayed in real time and can be recorded. The tool has a diameter slightly less than 2 inches, and can operate in both water-filled and air-filled voids. PVC rods are used to lower the camera into subsurface voids and provide directional orientation.
