Tonopah Test Range Autonomous UXO
ZAPATA completed electromagnetic surveys at the Tonopah Test Range near Tonopah, Nevada using an Autonomous Remote Controlled Vehicle designed to cover large areas without exposing personnel to potential hazards from Unexploded Ordnance. The geophysical surveys, conducted with a towed array of three Geonics EM61 coils, sought the locations of a buried rocket, depleted uranium rings, and scattered buried sub-munitions. The remote controlled vehicle successfully completed the geophysical surveys in a rapid and cost effective manner.
