We are pleased to announce that Ms. Porter-Jordan has relocated to Charlotte to join ZAPATA as an Architect Intern.

Ms. Porter-Jordan graduated from Hampton University (Virginia) with a Master of Architecture degree; her thesis addressed the flow of airport design, security, and passenger efficiency. Previously, Ms. Porter-Jordan was architectural intern for the National Park Service in Petersburg, Virginia. She conducted comprehensive condition assessments of historic and non-historic structures, created work orders for corrective maintenance plans, and developed plans for system components that included life cycle data and replacement costs.

In her new position at ZAPATA, Ms. Porter-Jordan will assist the firm’s licensed architects with architectural designs and construction document details for building systems, pre-engineered buildings, historical structures, commissioning requirements, infrastructure construction, and new and retrofit projects for government and commercial clients. She will examine consultant-prepared design drawings; prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and schedules; and review engineering plans for compliance with regulatory policies.
