ZAPATA is pleased to announce Mr. Ali Al-Shujairi joined the firm as a Civil EI. Mr. Al-Shujairi is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; he has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering technology.
As an experienced engineer intern, Mr. Al-Shujairi will be responsible for civil site plans, project specifications, and cost estimates; this includes design preparation for drainage, utilities, and roads for new/retrofit building and infrastructure construction.
He will conduct site visits to document conditions; prepare civil site designs that incorporate standardized erosion control and storm water management practices; review consultant-prepared design drawings and technical specifications; and perform engineering calculations for facility designs, cost-benefit analysis, and long-range planning.
Mr. Al-Shujairi began his career as a field technician in the construction industry. Since then he has worked for environmental/engineering firms providing civil designs and calculations for water, sanitary, storm sewer facility planning, and highway drainage for land development companies, government agencies, and public utilities. Additionally, he has field and design experience in the telecommunications and electric utility industries.
