Catherine (Cate) Taylor Joins ZAPATA

ZAPATA is pleased to announce that Cate Taylor has accepted a full-time position as an architect in training.

Ms. Taylor recently graduated from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with a Master of Architecture with a concentration in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, and she has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture (BSIA) from the same institution. Ms. Taylor is an associate member of American Institute of Architects (AIA).

In 2022, Ms. Taylor was hired as a summer intern and later worked part-time and during school breaks while completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She has worked on several notable ZAPATA projects that include the demolition program at Naval Air Station Pensacola and Saufley Field, FL, which affected 47 buildings/structures; and design work for the new 98,370-SF headquarters building at Fort Bragg, NC.

Prior to joining our company, she was an intern for Atriax Group, which is one of ZAPATA’s joint-venture partners. Ms. Taylor supported Atriax’s design teams on projects for the Veterans Administration and gained valuable hospital and healthcare facilities experience.

Ms. Taylor will continue work under the supervision of an in-house team of licensed architects and engineers to provide architectural drawings and specifications for ZAPATA’s military clients and contractors. Her work involves supporting projects through all phases of architectural design and documentation, as she is skilled in technical drafting, interior specifications, construction documents/details, and 3D modeling.
