David Parry, PE, Joins ZAPATA

We’re delighted to announce the return of David Parry, PE. He first joined ZAPATA after graduating from college—and now he has been rehired as a senior civil engineer.

During those interim years, Mr. Parry gained valuable experience providing civil site designs for commercial, industrial, state/county, and residential clients throughout the Southeast. His background in project management includes leading teams of engineers and subcontractors and overseeing project budgets and schedules. Combined with his earlier work at ZAPATA—such as conducting a geotechnical analysis of the Cape Fear River for USACE Wilmington; redesigning and installing a fuel tank system at Fort Stewart, GA; and developing site improvements for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salisbury, NC—Mr. Parry brings a strong portfolio of civil engineering experience.

Mr. Parry commented, “It’s great to be back at ZAPATA. The company has really grown since I first worked here, yet it still has that sense of family with Manuel at the helm. I like how everyone works together as a team, and Manuel still says—’you don’t have a job at ZAPATA, you have a mission.’”

Mr. Parry holds two bachelor’s degrees, mechanical engineering and civil engineering, from the University of North Carolina–Charlotte. He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in North and South Carolina. In his new role Mr. Parry will review and stamp civil drawings, mentor junior engineers, and provide designs and specifications for ZAPATA’s expanded DoW client list.
