ZAPATA welcomes Mr. John Potts, AIA, LEED AP, to Charlotte, North Carolina; we are pleased he has joined our firm as an Architect.

Mr. Potts brings a wealth of CONUS/OCONUS design experience working on commercial and government projects. He has designed new facilities, additions and renovations, and infrastructure rehabilitation solutions for his clients, from the middle of America to Venice, Italy; Tehran, Iran; and to Okinawa, Japan. He has worked on numerous historic preservation projects, all of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Early in his career, Mr. Potts, along with his brother, started their own architectural firm, and for 13 years they provided full design services and project management to private developers, and higher education and government clients.

From project manager to partner, Mr. Potts worked for a variety of firms and expanded his portfolio to include U. S. military projects; his work can be seen at: Tinker AFB, Wright-Patterson AFB, Edwards AFB, Kadena AFB, Robins AFB, Grissom ARB, Reno AFB, McConnell AFB, Scott AFB, Andrews AFB, Seymour Johnson AFB, Fort Campbell, and Fort Knox. Additionally, he has designed projects for NAVFAC, Air Force, Army National Guard, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Mr. Potts graduated from the University of Kentucky-Lexington with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He is NCARB-certified and a registered architect in over a dozen states. Additionally, Mr. Potts is a Certified Interior Designer and a LEED Accredited Professional.
