November 18, 2025ZAPATA is pleased to announce Marvin Lewis, a civil designer with 30 years of experience, has joined the firm to provide civil designs and drafting support for our governmental and commercial projects.
Mr. Lewis studied civil engineering at Central Carolina Technical College in South Carolina, and he has extensive on-the-job experience. His career spans multiple sectors of infrastructure and land development, from commercial and residential sites to nuclear and gas power facilities. He collaborates with architects and engineers, general contractors and developers, and government agencies and municipalities to develop plans and designs for civil engineering projects.
His design work includes site layouts, roads, grading and drainage, sediment control, stormwater management, erosion control, and utility plans/profiles for a wide range of projects, including substations and commercial developments.
Prior to joining ZAPATA, Mr. Lewis led efforts in flood studies, water/wastewater system designs, and land development planning, working closely with developers and municipalities to meet evolving regulatory standards. His hands-on approach includes site visits for construction observation and the creation of detailed construction documentation.
Mr. Lewis is proficient in using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydroflow, HydroCAD, and StormCAD; and he has history of consistently delivering high-quality, regulation-compliant design solutions for his clients.
