Tarah Cavallaro, PE, Joins ZAPATA

ZAPATA is pleased to announce Tarah Cavallaro, PE, has joined our talented team of architects and engineers. She is a mechanical engineer with 11 years of experience that includes projects for USACE, AFCEC, NAVFAC, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Her expertise includes building design for new construction, renovations, and mechanical rooms; and plant design for large equipment. She designs building control systems and performs commissioning services for a variety of building types and sizes; conducts HVAC/plumbing life cycle cost analyses (LCCAs) for various systems, including photovoltaic, solar hot water, and geothermal; and energy modeling to comply with LEED certification requirements.

Additionally, Ms. Cavallaro has experience writing specifications for IoT systems and associated cybersecurity requirements (Div 23 and Div 25); this includes designs for IoT controls systems that serve mission critical facilities.

Ms. Cavallaro received both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University. She is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2).
