ZAPATA is pleased to announce civil engineer Skylar Patton has joined the firm.
Mrs. Patton will be responsible for civil site plans, project specifications, cost estimates, and civil design calculations; this includes design preparation for drainage, utilities, and roads for new/retrofit building and infrastructure construction. She will work closely with registered professional engineers and licensed architects in support of the firm’s military, commercial, and industrial clients.
At ZAPATA, Mrs. Patton will conduct site visits to document existing conditions; prepare civil site designs that incorporate standardized erosion control and stormwater management practices; review consultant-prepared design drawings and technical specifications; and perform engineering calculations for facility designs, cost-benefit analysis, and long-range planning.
Mrs. Patton received a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduation, she joined a land development firm where she provided designs for grading, erosion control, stormwater management, and utilities for commercial clients and local municipalities.
Mrs. Patton and her husband recently welcomed the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Saoirse. She is also taking steps to attain her professional engineer (PE) license.
